Terra Wood-Fired Kitchen sits at 4884 Main St. Across the street, at 4893, its owners are building their next business. A few doors up, at 4901 Main St., Broken Yolk Café's locations page still says "Coming Soon!"
These two projects are changing Historic Main Street faster than anything else on it. The block is also where Yorba Linda's late-fall calendar ends up. On Saturday, Dec. 5, the street closes for the city-sponsored Holiday on Main. The event's vendor page says it is in its 32nd year. Most of the dates between now and then happen across town. They all lead back here, to a block that will look a little different by the time Santa arrives.
The restaurant that anchors the block is expanding
Terra's history page says the full-service restaurant opened on Historic Main Street in 2018. The menu is Mediterranean-inspired, built around wood-fired pizzas and a wood-burning rotisserie. Eight years later, owners Nick and Doreen Saba are opening a second business facing the first.
WhatNow reported in February that The Artisan by Terra will be a retail-first market, deli and café with takeout. Plans include in-house butchery, dry-aging and curing, plus gelato, sandwiches, pasta, bread, pastries, coffee, beer and wine. That report pointed to a mid- to late-summer opening. The city's September 8 business roundup still called it a specialty market, deli and café "from the owners of Terra Wood-Fired Kitchen" and listed it as coming soon. Expect it, but don't plan a December lunch around it yet.
A market with a butcher counter brings a different kind of trip to Main Street. People would come to pick up dinner ingredients, coffee or a loaf of bread, along with the sit-down meals the street already serves.
Broken Yolk Café adds a morning crowd. The same city roundup describes it as "new breakfast and brunch offerings coming to Main Street." The company has posted 4901 Main St., Yorba Linda, CA 92886, but no opening date.
What's open around the block, by address
Most of the other new names this year are within a short drive of Main Street, in Yorba Linda Town Center and along Imperial Highway and Yorba Linda Boulevard. Here is where things stand heading into November, based on the latest posts from the city and the businesses.

|---|---|---|
| Terra Wood-Fired Kitchen | 4884 Main St. | Open since 2018 |
| The Artisan by Terra | 4893 Main St. | Coming soon |

| Sushi Mura | 4895 Valley View Ave. | Open |
| Pilates Addiction | 20517 Yorba Linda Blvd., Eastlake Village Center | Presale, not yet open |
The city's June business update confirmed that Sourdough & Co. and Bell's Head Spa had opened at Town Center. Angelica's Table, which the city describes as "family recipes and authentic Mexican cuisine," was still listed as coming soon in September.
SHO Handroll Bar and Pizza Guys are only a few street numbers apart on Yorba Linda Boulevard, near Lakeview Avenue. Patch listed the Pizza Guys grand opening for Aug. 27 and named local franchisee Sameh Mekhaiel. Sushi Mura on Valley View Avenue serves sashimi, rolls and ramen.
The six weeks before the tree lighting happen across town
Between Halloween and Dec. 5, Yorba Linda's dates are spread around town: a trail lot on the east side, the library on Lakeview, the Nixon Library on Yorba Linda Boulevard, and front yards everywhere. In order:
- Saturday, Oct. 24: Trail & Treats. Hiking slots run from 9 to 11 a.m., starting at the Travis Ranch Youth Park parking lot. The city's registration page shows the event as full, so the waitlist is the only way in now.
- Monday, Oct. 26: Halloween Decorating Contest deadline. The city's annual contest is free for Yorba Linda residents and businesses. Entries go on an interactive Halloween Decoration Map, and winners get a gift card to a local Yorba Linda business. Categories are Most Festive Theme, Best Lights and Creative Effects, and the Spirit of Halloween Award. The entry form and photo upload are due Monday, Oct. 26.
- Saturday, Nov. 7: Peter Fletcher, classical guitar. The Yorba Linda Public Library hosts him from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room at 4852 Lakeview Ave.
- Nov. 9, 14 and 18: DIY Crochet Dishcloth sessions in the library's DIY Studio. Registration is required.
- Wednesday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day Commemoration. The free program at the Richard Nixon Library & Museum, 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd., runs 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. It includes remarks from Colonel Daniel Whitley and Lisa Fox, a wreath-laying, and the unveiling of a plaque from the Daughters of the American Revolution. The Nixon Foundation's event page notes that registration does not include admission to the museum galleries.
- Wednesday, Nov. 18: Wellness Wednesday. A UCI Health talk at the library at 2 p.m. covers children's health during cold and flu season.
If you're at the Nixon Library on Veterans Day, it's worth buying a gallery ticket for the special exhibition, "America 250: A More Perfect Union." It runs through Jan. 31, 2027. Visitors walk through the Boston Tea Party, Sutter's Mill during the Gold Rush, and Thomas Edison's laboratory. It is also a solid plan for out-of-town guests over Thanksgiving weekend.
Dec. 5, when the street closes
Holiday on Main runs Saturday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 9 p.m. Plans include Santa, a tree lighting, face painting, kids' crafts and holiday shopping along Main Street. Uptown Village Market is listed as the organizer on Eventbrite. The vendor page describes it as a city-sponsored event.
The vendor page also gives a sense of the event's size. Main Street closes to cars, and about 80 outdoor spaces are set up for juried vendors, each in a 10-by-10 white canopy. Attendance is roughly 5,000 people, and parking in the parking structure is free. With that many people sharing one closed street, arriving close to 4 p.m. means more space at the craft tables and in the line for Santa.
This year's Holiday on Main happens on a street in the middle of a change. Terra anchors the block at 4884 Main St., and The Artisan at 4893 and Broken Yolk Café at 4901 may open before the tree lighting or after it.
